About the local area

Wringford sits on the Rame peninsula in Cornwall, just over the Tamar river from Plymouth in Devon.

The peninsula is known as the "forgotten corner" of Cornwall and is a peaceful and beautiful place.

The villages of Kingsand and Cawsand in Cornwall are a 10 minute walk from the cottages. This walk takes you to the edge of the Mount Edgcumbe country park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. A 10 minute walk in the opposite direction brings you out on Whitsand Bay, four miles of beautiful sands backed by cliffs and protected at one end by Polhawn Fort which these days offers civil wedddings, and at the other by Tregantle Fort which is still used by HMS Raleigh for training purposes. The whole area is bordered by the south west coast path, and is wonderful for walking.
